October 19, 2022

USA Today has named Key West’s Fort East Martello Museum one of the “10 Best Haunted Destinations” in America for the third year in a row. Fort East Martello is known around the world as the home of Robert the Doll. David Sloan, author, and researcher of the haunted doll, operates VIP ghost tours of the haunted fort through ghostkeywest.com.

Sloan has documented more than 42 spirits at Fort East Martello in Key West. Visiting psychics and paranormal investigators believe there are well over 100 spirits haunting the old Civil War fort, making it the most haunted location in Key West and Florida and one of the most haunted destinations in the United States.

Fort East Martello served as a quarantine hospital during the Civil War. Many of the spirits are thought to be soldiers who died from yellow fever at the Key West fort. Dozens of artifacts in the museum have reported spirit attachments, including a horse-drawn funeral coach, a Spanish treasure chest, a convent hospital bed, and a tiny playhouse.

To visit the haunted Fort East Martello Museum in Key West, Florida and experience the best ghost tour in Key West, go to Ghost Key West. Robert the Doll is dying to see you.
